Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words, yet a little explanation goes a long way, a complement to the wise.

Baptists and Catholics

The Ten Commandments, in condensed manner, if you want to read the Ten Commandments original source (in translation), look in the Bible, Exodus chapter 20, verse 1 to 17, we'll take a look at a couple of things, basically two big failures of mankind, one subtle one obvious.

Before we talk about other people's problems, let's talk about our own, from my perspective, this problem permeates the Baptist church, and it has to do with the third commandment, You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, the picture next to the third command on this infograpic speaks loud about the problem, but only if we want to acknowledge it, if we're Christians, we are people of the Bible automatically, and the Bible has many verses tellings us "watch your mouth", plus we know that a "filthy mouth" does not respect the name of the Lord, so why would we want to follow that path, if we cannot control the little member of our bodies, what can we control? We need to make a change here!

The next issue is with the catholic church, well, there are several issues with them, but we'll mention the one that has to do with the Ten Commandments, they changed the Ten Commandments, how so?  Well, when you compare their Ten Commandments to the Bible (picture below), you'll notice they removed the 2nd commandment and since they were short 1, they decided to split the last commandment into 2, so that they would have 10 commandments again.

Interestingly, I went to the Vatican website to see if I could grab a picture of the Ten Commandments and could find none, but pictures of the 10 commandments that match their belief and actions can be easily found on the internet.

So why change the 10 Commandments?  Well, in my opinion and simply put, some people may feel so fearful and doubtful that these conditions give birth to idolatry, the need to have some kind of statue, charm, idol, patron, you name it, so that they feel an assurance of protection, it basically starts with superstition and grows into idolatry, how can they get rid of that and get on the right path?  Well, based on the Bible, they need to start by destroying all those statues, acknowledging that there should not be idolatry in the Church and people should not put their faith and trust in Mary, or any of the Apostles or even worse, on a statue, but only on Jesus, the Creator and the Saviour, and lastly to place God's Word in the Bible above man, to replace fears and doubts with Faith in the Lord.  Yet, sadly this is only half of the equation, because there's people that like to use power to manipulate the masses, and I believe such is the case with the catholic church.
